The following foods are toxic to parrots and must never be given:

Contact your avian vet immediately. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — avocado toxicity, for example, can cause cardiac arrest within 1–3 days of ingestion, and early treatment significantly improves outcomes.
Many common house plants are toxic to parrots. Known toxic plants include philodendron, dieffenbachia, oleander, mistletoe, azalea, and poinsettia. If you have a bird with access to house plants, verify each plant's safety or remove them.
