View Species GuideThe decision should be based on the individual bird, verifiable records, household suitability and a lawful route—not a generic promise.
Ask how the individual bird was weaned, socialised, housed and prepared for a household, and which foods it currently eats independently.
Request identification, provenance, veterinary information and any CITES documents that apply, then verify that every record matches the bird.
Great Britain and Ireland have different rules. Any proposed movement is assessed for the bird, destination, official controls and carrier.
Ask for the current business or premises information relevant to the transaction and independently check any registration claim.
Ask what examinations or tests were completed, when they were completed, who performed them and which bird the results identify.
Confirm exactly what the offer includes, who is responsible for each step and what happens if approval or transport cannot proceed.
UK & Ireland Route Checks
A city page is a buyer guide, not confirmation that a live-bird consignment can use the nearest airport. Suitable entry points and carriers depend on the destination and individual bird.
CITES permits, animal-health certification, approved premises, identification, official checks and any post-arrival controls must be established before transport is booked.
